Spring is definitely here - pollen, flowers coming into bloom and nights getting so bright you can walk outside at 8PM and still see your reflection loud and clear off any shiny surface...
Not to mention the bombardment of friends' birthdays that always seem to fall during Spring...
Yesterday i managed two parties in one night. Either one of the best or worst ideas....
Which actually turned out to be a pretty great night overall, despite initial expectations.
Party #1 -
After good-old British public transport letting us down, we all managed to scrounge a lift to what was, admittedly, more of a 'meal' than a party, but hey - there were drinks (ok, water), a cake and a LOT of food... Joys of going to an all-you-can-eat~!
Resulted in interesting conversation, and after around two hours of food and present-giving, myself and another friend were off to the second birthday 'party' of the night...
Party #2 -
Was held at a social / working mens club, I guess? That neither of us had ever seen before in our lives, therefore a lift in a car with a Sat-Nav ended up being a lifesaver and we made it, fashionably late...
Handed out presents at the start of the night, before everyone could forget who'd given what...
Then, somewhere between catching up and drinking, people realised the bar was pretty expensive, at which point we put our coats on and 4 of us girls braved the cold, in heels, doing the classy thing and walking over to the closest 24hour supermarket...
Where we bought fruit ciders, Desparados and a bottle opener, then walked back into the 'club'.
What followed was a lot of cheesy music, people dancing, and a couple of appearances from people I'd not seen since the end of school... Slightly strange, but interesting to see how some have changed.
Rocked up back at home around 1AM, having had a pretty awesome evening / night, drank a lot of water and slept until 10AM..
Time now = 11PM and I'm so ready for a proper lie-in tomorrow morning!
